What does design
taste like?
For the 18th time, as a proud partner of the make me! competition held as part of the Łódź Design Festival, we had the pleasure of presenting the Interprint Award.
This year’s winning project, UMA, designed by Żanetta Korsak and Paweł Lasota from Hak Studio, captivated us not only with its aesthetics and functionality, but above all with its design sensitivity.
UMA is more than just a tableware set – it’s a sensory journey that stimulates taste, touch, and imagination. It proves that good design does more than please the eye – it creates an emotional bond with the user.
At Interprint, we recognize in this project the same passion for form, material, and meaning that drives our own work. This bold, empathetic, and experience-oriented approach to design is exactly what we aim to support and promote.
UMA was created with people in mind who have lost their sense of taste – for example, after COVID-19 – or who struggle with appetite disorders. The inspiration came from research in gastrophysics, which shows how closely our senses work together – and how design can actually influence taste.
