Develop with Creativity, Evaluate with Data

INTERPRINT presents MOKUMETRIX™,
an AI tool for more fact-based design decisions, at SICAM 2026.

Taste is subjective – so how can design decisions be made more objectively in the future? At SICAM, October 20–23, 2026, in Hall 5 at Booth C22/D21, INTERPRINT will present a solution for this with the AI tool MOKUMETRIX™. Using selected decors from the new EN/FOLD edition, the tool makes design decisions more measurable.

MOKUMETRIX™ was trained using more than 2,000 wood images and over 30,000 evaluation data sets, enabling it to assess the emotional impact and material characteristics of a surface. The analysis is based on the perceptions of real people across different age groups, genders, and levels of experience. The innovative tool was developed by technology experts at the Japanese parent company TOPPAN.

The AI-based evaluation system is used in market analysis, the development of new decors, and customer consulting. Based on the analyzed data, the tool evaluates the emotional impact on viewers and indicates, for example, whether a decor feels cozy, stylish, natural, or elegant. Designs are assigned to perceptual worlds such as Stylish, Natural, or Gentle. The data provides greater confidence in assessing a decor’s potential, helps designers accelerate development processes, and reduces misdirected development. “It is important, however, that design expertise and experience are not replaced, but complemented by solid data,” says Sabrina Wieland, International Director Marketing. MOKUMETRIX™ takes INTERPRINT’s consulting quality regarding promising surfaces to a new level.

EN/FOLD: Creativity meets Data

The new EN/FOLD design edition demonstrates how MOKUMETRIX™ brings creative intuition and technological analysis together in practical terms: While the INTERPRINT team translates social trends into distinctive lifestyle worlds and decors, the analytical tool uses data to reveal their emotional impact. The result is an interplay of design expertise and measurable perception. The surface and design specialist will present a selection from the current edition, along with its AI-powered evaluation, at this year’s SICAM.

Beyond data and evaluation, INTERPRINT’s booth showcases the full creative power of the EN/FOLD edition. Three lifestyle worlds bring the ideas, moods, and stories behind the decors vividly to life:

NeoRomantic provides a counterpoint to digital overstimulation. Very warm, deeply emotional, and highly sensual. Soft color gradients, emotive textures, atmospheric woods, and floral elements transform rooms into evocative, literary landscapes. Inspired by the romance novels that are currently so popular, NeoRomantic counters the digital loneliness of modern life.

The Grand revives opulent generosity in interior design. Rich, warm, and vibrant, the new decors feature dark woods full of life, stone with depth, and surfaces with character. The atmosphere is dramatic yet deeply personal. At a time when the world is becoming increasingly uniform, The Grand opens the door to a world of the extraordinary.

Prime Time transforms rooms into wellness retreats. Clean and clear. Every surface is carefully selected, every material thoughtfully considered—nothing is left to chance. Health and longevity are the status symbols of our time, and this trend is extending into our homes as well. INTERPRINT’s stone, wood, and creative decors express a new, healthy, and restorative aesthetic.

The MOKUMETRIX™ AI analysis tool, trained on over 30,000 evaluation data points, assesses the emotional impact of a design on the viewer.
