Interprint DesignDays 2024 delivers inspiration with AI, creativity and technology for a completely new customized experience

 

 

 

Whenever the decor industry is looking for new impulses, a visit to Arnsberg is always a top priority. Interprint, one of the world's leading decor manufacturers, invited customers from the wood-based materials, flooring and furniture industries to its DesignDays 2024 event in April. What they saw there in the WorkLab and Brand Show – with the help of artists, AI and a new perspective on consumers – left them surprised and inspired. And motivated for the future.

 

Over 300 visitors from 20 nations and 130 companies were eagerly anticipating the new products and styles that will shape the decor industry over the coming years. Interprint has invested heavily and completely restyled the Design Centre at its headquarters in Arnsberg for the DesignDays, transforming it for the future. The aim was clearly to prove and consolidate its role as a trailblazer, driver and style consultant for the industry. The result: more than successful.

 

 

 

Farewell to trends. Welcome to sensual decor presentations.

 

For six days, guests were able to experience decors in a completely new way. And understand why Interprint no longer wants to follow trends. The needs of consumers are too diverse, the requirements of modern living environments too specific. There is no such thing as a single trend. This is why Interprint has developed Editions. They provide enough freedom for creative design, but at the same time offer inspiration for contemporary customer wishes. And this is exactly what the new Special Edition reflected: Trendless. The WorkLab and the Atrium were transformed into places of inspiration where guests could live and experience Trendless.

Just as in a test laboratory, the latest decors could be combined as desired. Moods conveyed the effect and showed their relevance for the design of tomorrow. Digital print decors, floor decors and plain colors immediately generated the first gasps of astonishment. But there was even more to come.

Unimagined creative possibilities

 

The tour through the worlds of Editions was designed as a coded experience. Design and technology merge into one. Creativity meets craftsmanship, out-of-the-box thinking meets maximum customer understanding. Interprint brought the Editions vividly to life. The astonished trade visitors were able to experience the decors with all their senses. Taste the wood. Feel the colors. Hear the stones. A voyage of the senses.

 

The journey was supported – visually and aurally – by AI. Guests answered a variety of questions on their preferences, tastes and style, and then experienced how artificial intelligence takes this data and uses it to generate new creative results. At the end, each guest received a personal IP code – and thus a data-supported, AI-generated image where decors were reinterpreted.

Co-creation with visionary personalities

 

However, the multi-sensory experience was not based exclusively on innovative technology. Interprint is also committed to merging art and culture with design and expression. A work of art specially designed by Gustavo Dalinha for the DesignDays caught the eye of every visitor at the event. Color, light and emotion – a successful introduction to the world of Colour Edition. Guests were enthusiastic about the story and the way it perfectly matched Interprint's philospohy and ideas. Art can inspire design and take it to new heights – leaving commercial concepts and borders behind.

 

Gustavo Dalinha has dedicated his life to paper and pigment. Immersing himself in the world of commercial design decor printing "hands on" was therefore second nature. The cooperation has been an inspiration to both Interprint and Dalinha, stimulating a plethora of ideas for future co-creations.

 

Interprint has always understood the importance of working together with partners within a co- creation framework. Of thinking outside the box. As a result, it is continuously generating stimulating new ideas. In addition to Gustavo Dalinha, the IT professionals from JaStech also played a prominent role at the DesignDays. They introduced guests to new dimensions in digital technologies with an AI performance and an exciting, augmented reality installation. WGSN also provided their take on the future needs of Gen Alpha. This generation will play an important role from 2030, at the latest, and shape the future as digital natives.

 

 

 

Surprising and inspiring customers with style

 

"We are delighted by how well the DesignDays were received by the visitors. But that was exactly our aim," explains Steffen Fillibeck, Global Director Marketing & Design at Interprint. "We wanted to bring a far-sighted view of the future, communication and the decor experience back to Arnsberg. We showed the industry what is possible today with the right combination of creativity, AI, co-creation and consumer perspective – and also necessary to inspire customers. Our Editions concept was perfectly received, above all because we made it an experience for all the senses. Everyone who was there now understands what we mean when we talk about style instead of trends."

 

DesignDays 2024 took place in Arnsberg for six days in April. The installations and, above all, the presentations of the Editions will be on display at Interprint for some time to come – always being creatively remixed. Everything is in motion. Everything is possible. And Interprint remains a beacon, helping customers to navigate an intriguing future.
