Gautsch Festival
at Interprint

Arnsberg, Germany. 09/20/2025

Summer, sun, good vibes – this year’s Gautsch Festival at Interprint was once again a true highlight! Around 600 guests – employees, families and friends – gathered on the company premises to celebrate new journeymen and journeywomen according to the old tradition.

With the words, “Packers, dig in!” this time Gautschmaster Antonio Lourenco took command. One by one, seven apprentices ended up in the water trough and were officially “washed” into the ranks of journeymen with sponge and cool water. Great atmosphere, dripping journeymen – and in the end, the well-deserved Gautsch certificate.

The tradition of Gautschen dates back to the 16th century and is closely linked to the history of paper and printing. At Interprint, this ritual is a firm part of the company culture and is carried on with great enthusiasm.

But it wasn’t just the “Kornuten” (aspiring printer apprentices) who had fun – guests were treated to a colorful supporting program as well. Kids enjoyed a bouncy castle, face painting, a firefighting and reaction wall and ring toss. Refreshments were also provided: popcorn, cold drinks and fresh ood from the grill with crisp salads rounded off the celebration.

The mood? Relaxed, cheerful, and family-friendly. Many took the opportunity to reconnect with old acquaintances or make new contacts. The entire festival was planned and organized by our apprentices – an impressive achievement. In the end, everyone agreed: it was a successful day, and Gautschen remains a heartfelt tradition at Interprint.
