Ten apprentices onboard for success!

Interprint is the top choice for many young people in the region

On 1 August, ten young people embarked on their apprenticeships at Interprint – more than ever before! To ease their entry into the world of work, all the trainees first participated in Interprint’s “onboarding” scheme to familiarise them with the company.

Great expectations, great goals

This year Interprint offered apprenticeships in media technology, electronics, computer science and industrial business management – with the training courses focusing on skills that are as diverse as the apprentices’ expectations. Eli Pietz, for example, is training as an IT technician and looking forward to discovering the many facets of his chosen profession. Vanessa Hahne is hoping to combine technical skills with lots of creativity as a media technology specialist. Florent Gashi is particularly excited about solving problems as part of a team with other electronics professionals. Over the next three to three-and-a-half years, they will get to know all the key aspects of their profession. And gain excellent career prospects in the process. Because, as a rule, all apprentices at Interprint are taken on at the end of their training.

Our new apprentices from left to right: Elia Pietz (IT specialist), Jan Sutschet (media designer), Kai Moor (industrial clerk), Florent Gashi (electronics technician), Alexander Kasjanow, Lucas Haumer, (gravure media technologists); Jessica Erb (industrial clerk), Emanuel Murina (gravure media technologist); Vanessa Hahne (digital printing media technologist), Katharina Scheck (industrial clerk)

Onboarding as a springboard

“Here's your workplace – now get started.” No one’s working life at Interprint starts that abruptly. Quite the opposite, in fact. We start slowly and build the intensity as we go. During our “onboarding” scheme, the 10 new apprentices spent a week exchanging ideas with training manager Andrea Pusch before they dove deeper into the respective areas of their chosen training professions. In the first week, they got to know the company and each other. Visits, seminars and various group tasks gave them a variety of insights into internal processes. For example, Interprint has clear rules. These ensure that everyone is able to cooperate smoothly in the workplace. Occupational safety also plays an important role in a company of this size. So, before anyone is allowed to work on a machine, they must internalise the safety rules. At the end of the general induction process, all the apprentices were given iPads with learning content and programmes for their training courses – including training in Microsoft Teams and Outlook.

Outstanding!

At the beginning of the year, an independent survey named Interprint as an “outstanding training company”. For the 10th successive year! Training Manager Andrea Pusch is thrilled about the high demand for places – and the ten new apprentices. “We are delighted that young people like us so much. It spurs us on to fulfil their expectations of us. As a training company, we want to give young people a successful start to their careers. And we do this by transferring lots of knowledge, creating a supportive social environment and making it fun.” Interprint employs 1,500 people worldwide, 420 of them in Arnsberg. With the ten new trainees, a total of 23 apprentices are currently preparing for promising careers. Interprint is proud of this record and understands that it provides a great foundation for future success. At Interprint, we know that a company is only as good as its employees.
